Senior Snow Removal Program

The City of Klamath Falls is offering senior citizen snow removal assistance this winter. Qualifying senior citizens who are residents of the City may request assistance in removal of snow from paved driveways and sidewalks at their homes.

Application

Seniors should apply ahead of the snow season as applications must be received, reviewed and approved before a crew will be dispatched to perform any services. Seniors wishing to apply may pick up an application at the Police Department located at 2501 Shasta Way. Applications (PDF) are accepted at any time throughout the winter.

Qualification Criteria

See the 2022 Income Limits Documentation System (PDF).

  • Age: Applicant must be at least 60 years of age
  • Income:
    • Single: $27,750 annual gross
    • Couple: $35,900 annual gross
  • Residence: Must be a single family residence, the principle residence for the applicant and must be located within the Klamath Falls City limits

Calls for Assistance

During the coming winter, approved applicants may call the City Code Enforcement Department at 541-883-5358 to request assistance. On a first come basis, Monday through Friday, Code Enforcement will dispatch a crew to the residence to remove the snow and/or ice as soon as possible. Code Enforcement will only respond to individual calls for assistance during the winter. Absent a call for assistance, Code Enforcement will not automatically dispatch crews.

Limitations

The City has budgeted $2,000 for this program for the 2022 to 2023 winter. In the event these funds are expended in total, the program may immediately be discontinued.

The service is not available to multi-unit residences.
